Establishing a new range of direct-to-consumer wines by SALDO

SALDO is a luxury wine brand from the unconventional Prisoner Wine Company that explores the unexpected — modern winemaking to appeal to contemporary tastes. With an opportunity to expand into the direct-to-consumer (DTC) market, we were briefed to design a new range of SALDO wines that explore its innovative side with new age techniques and lesser known varietals.

SALDO has an understated confidence; A Dymo label, nothing else. An intentionally understated design that immerses consumers in the winemaker’s lab where wine experimentation is labelled simply with what’s to hand. Our idea for SALDO’s new direct-to-consumer range builds on this origin story using tapes and markers. A deceptively simple extension of the brand’s visual language executed with a hand-applied look at commercial scale.
